Successful partnership between SPVGG GREUTHER FÜRTH and the Kalonji Soccer Academy in Atlanta.
At the beginning of December of last year, a coach from the Kleeblatt soccer school traveled to the USA for the first time – marking the beginning of a special transatlantic partnership. The goal of the trip was to officially launch joint programs with the Kalonji Soccer Academy from Atlanta, a recognized youth club in the MLS Next system. The programs are now running with great success and are constantly evolving.
Over the past few months, the focus has been not only on athletic development, but also on intercultural exchange. Together with the Kalonji Soccer Academy, local children were trained and coaches were educated. The focus was on Fürth’s training philosophy, modern game concepts, and the promotion of team spirit, fairness, and a sense of responsibility.
“A significant milestone and a remarkable opportunity.”
“We are thrilled about the new partnership with SPVGG GREUTHER FÜRTH. This collaboration is a significant milestone for KSA and represents a remarkable opportunity for player and community development. It is an honor to take these opportunities to a new level by working directly with SPVGG GREUTHER FÜRTH. We are very grateful for the privilege of working with such a renowned club,” said Bruno Kalonji, founder of KSA.
What makes the partnership so special: The Kalonji Soccer Academy is strongly committed to social engagement. Many of the children it supports come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The club provides access – not only to football, but also to education, structure, and community.
“Together we give young people access to the fun of football.”
An approach that fits perfectly with the club’s philosophy, as Timo Schiller, Head of Marketing at SPVGG GREUTHER FÜRTH, confirms: “We are happy and pleased to have found a very professional local partner in KSA, who will implement our approaches at the Atlanta location in line with our philosophy. Together, we can provide young people with access to and enjoyment of football, as well as training and further education, and promote the further development of young athletes.”
Professional exchanges will take place in regular online formats, and further on-site visits are planned, and young talents and coaches will also be given the opportunity to gain experience in the other country.
